We are committed to growing the number of next-generation school options to ensure that all students graduate well-prepared for success in college and career. Families have the opportunity to choose from a variety of unique schools and programs designed to best fit the individual interests of their child. Regardless of their academic abilities or where they live, all Bexar County students can apply to an SAISD Choice School or Magnet Program.
An application is required to gain admission into these schools/programs. We’re still accepting applications for selected schools and grades for 2021-22! Apply today for up to 3 Choice Schools or Magnet Programs. Check the status of your application at any time online on the SchoolMint platform.

Choice Schools & Magnet Programs are specialized offerings typically showcasing a model around which all teaching and learning happens, such as STEM, Dual Language, International Baccalaureate, Single Gender, or Montessori. Applicants must submit their applications no later than January 29, 2021 to participate in the Round 1 lottery.
Families may still apply for select schools and grades after this deadline.
Round 1 Offers Announced | Feb 10
Applicants will receive notice of their status via email, text, and a mailed letter beginning Wednesday, February 10, 2021. All applicants who submitted an application before the close of the Round 1 application window will be notified by Feb. 16, 2020. You can check the status of your application anytime after February 10 online on the SchoolMint platform.

Registration Opens
Window opens for all students to register/re-enroll for the 2021-22 school year.
Beginning February 16, families may register online on the Frontline Parent Portal, at their school, or by phone at (210) 554-2660 during business hours (Mon.-Fri. 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM; se habla español).

Offers from Waitlists Announced | beginning Mar 1
Waitlists are cleared and offers are announced on an ongoing basis until seats are filled. Waitlisted applicants typically have 2 business days from notification date to accept an offer.
You can check the status of your application anytime online on the SchoolMint platform.
Deadline to Accept Round 1 Offer | Mar 16
Applicants who receive a Round 1 offer to a Choice School or Magnet Program must accept their seat by February 26 March 16, 2021. (This deadline has been extended to due recent inclement weather and outages.) If no action is taken by the deadline, the seat will be forfeited to an applicant on the waitlist.
Applicants on a waitlist should take no action at this time.
