SCHOOL CHOICE IN SAISD
At San Antonio ISD, we are committed to increasing the number of next-generation school options to ensure that all students graduate well-prepared for success in college and career. Families have the opportunity to choose from a variety of unique schools and programs designed to best fit the individual interests of their child.
An application is required to gain admission into these schools/programs. All students inside and outside SAISD can apply to a Choice School or Magnet Program, regardless of their academic abilities or where they live.
Families can still submit an application for the 2025-26 school year and be added to the waitlist.
- Applications received after the January 30th, 2026, deadline will not be included in the lottery. Instead, they will be placed on the waitlist in the order they were submitted.
- All students who were not enrolled in their preferred Choice School/Program during the previous year, must submit an application for the new school year to be considered for a seat.
- Students who are enrolled in their preferred Choice School/Program do not need to re-apply for the new school year.

SCHOOLS PARTICIPATING IN SCHOOL CHOICE
Choice Schools & Magnet Programs are specialized offerings typically showcasing a model around which all teaching and learning happens, such as STEM, Dual Language, International Baccalaureate, Single Gender, or Montessori. These can be neighborhood schools, schools without an attendance zone, or even a program within a school.
